I hope this doesn't negatively impact such events to the point where it won't be supported. That would be a mistake and large amounts of information would be lost. Maybe someday we'll see a major "virtual conference" using technology like Cisco's Telepresence and IPTV. Conferences could be nearly as effective, but a LOT more affordable.
